Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 25, 2026  |  Last updated: September 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Software, LLC handles information in the Hazmat Tech Android application (an iOS app is not yet available; contact support@hazmat-tech.com to request access) and the related Hazmat Tech services at hazmat-tech.com (collectively, the "Service"). We use personal information only to operate the Service, protect accounts and systems, communicate with users, provide support, and administer subscriptions and invoicing. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising or marketing.

1. Information We Handle

Depending on the features you use, the Service handles the following information:

  • Account and identity information: name, email address and/or phone number, account identifier, account type, and login credentials. Passwords are submitted to our authentication provider, Auth0; Software, LLC does not use your password for any purpose other than enabling authentication. The mobile app stores the refresh token and a display name in the platform's secure storage to maintain your signed-in session.
  • Subscription and invoicing information: subscription plan, status, renewal or expiration dates, licensed-seat counts, invoices or payment records, and transaction or subscription identifiers. Paid subscription checkout is processed by PayPal. Payment card and PayPal account credentials are entered with PayPal, not collected by the mobile app.
  • Service usage and submitted lookup details: search and placard calculation counts, and information you enter for a lookup or calculation, such as UN/NA numbers, package group, weight, bulk status, and shipment contents. We use this information to return requested results, enforce plan limits, and secure and operate the Service. Do not include personal information about other people in shipment fields.
  • Support and contact information: messages and contact details you choose to provide when contacting us, and any account communication preferences or consent records you submit.
  • Technical and security information: network and request data needed to connect to the Service. Our service infrastructure may receive standard connection information such as IP address, request time, app or operating-system version, and error or security events for operation, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.

The app requires internet access and network-state access to communicate with the Service. It does not request access to your precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or SMS inbox for its core functionality.

2. How We Use Information

We use information only as needed to:

  • Create and authenticate accounts, maintain sessions, and provide account access.
  • Provide hazmat searches and placard calculations and maintain account usage limits.
  • Manage subscriptions, licensed users, billing, invoices, and payment status.
  • Respond to support requests and send account, security, billing, or service messages.
  • Detect fraud, investigate misuse, protect the Service, and meet legal obligations.

If you separately opt in to transactional text messages through the Service, your phone number and consent record are used for the messages described in that consent. We do not send promotional SMS messages without a separate opt-in.

3. When Information Is Shared

We do not sell personal information, provide it to data brokers, or share it with third parties for their advertising or marketing. Information may be processed only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: Auth0 processes account authentication and related identity information. PayPal processes subscription payments on the website. Hosting, database, communications, and security providers may process information on our behalf to run the Service. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide their services to us or as otherwise required by law.
  • Team account administrators: If a parent account assigns a licensed seat, its administrator can manage the linked sub-account's contact identifier and account status and may see usage totals associated with the shared subscription.
  • Legal and business events: We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, to protect users or the Service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate notice where required.

The mobile app sends authenticated requests to Hazmat Tech account and hazmat-data services. Those services use the submitted fields to fulfill the feature you request.

4. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS for network connections, authenticated access to account services, and platform secure storage for the mobile app's refresh token. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse.

5. Retention

We keep information while it is needed to provide the Service and for legitimate account, support, security, and billing purposes. When an account is deleted, we delete or de-identify associated personal information unless we must retain specific records for tax, accounting, payment dispute, fraud-prevention, security, or other legal requirements. Retained records are limited to that purpose and kept only for the period required. Refresh tokens saved on a device are removed when you log out; removing the app also removes its local app data under the platform's normal behavior.

6. Access, Correction, and Account Deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your Hazmat Tech account and associated personal data. To submit a deletion request, email support@hazmat-tech.com with the subject Hazmat Tech account deletion request. Include the email address or phone number associated with the account and identify the app as Hazmat Tech. Do not send your password or payment credentials. We may ask for reasonable information to verify that you control the account before acting on the request.

After verification, we will delete or de-identify account data, subject to the limited retention exceptions described above. A parent account holder should identify each managed sub-account to be deleted. If you subscribe through PayPal, cancel the subscription separately through your account billing settings or PayPal so future payments stop; deleting app data does not itself cancel a payment agreement.

You can also contact us at the address above for access, correction, or privacy questions. This public page is the web resource for submitting an account deletion request for the Hazmat Tech app.

7. Children

Hazmat Tech is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

8. Changes and Contact

We may update this Policy as our practices or legal requirements change. We will post the current version on this page and revise the date above.
